2013 Round Pond “Kith & Kin” Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
On Sale $27.99
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Kith & Kin is a blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Petit Verdot and 5% Petite Sirah. This is another winner, and a great buy at $30. Deep ruby/purple, sweet crème de cassis and blackberry fruit, a nice, lush, fat palate and loads of glycerin make for a savory, hedonistic style of wine to drink over the next 5-7 years.

2013 Philippe Melka “CJ,” Proprietary Red, Napa Valley
On Sale $59.99
The 2013 CJ is a 80% Cabernet Sauvignon with the balance Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot blend aged 18 months in about one-fifth new French oak. This is one of my favorite wines in his portfolio, and the good news is that there are 1,800 cases. It has an absolutely spectacular nose of white chocolate, grilled meats, blackcurrants and licorice. The wine is full-bodied, has an opaque purple color, beautiful texture, density and overall richness and length. This wine is showing secondary nuances already, and should continue to evolve gracefully for 15 or more years.

2013 Crossbarn by Paul Hobbs Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
On Sale $45.99
This is a fantastic example of the super 2013 vintage in Napa. Full body, currants, graphite, spice, and light chocolate. The length and balance to this is superb. Don’t miss it. Drink or hold.

2013 Peter Franus Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
On Sale $41.99
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is superb. A host of graphite, grilled herbs, licorice and spice meld into a core of inky fruit in a rich, powerful Cabernet Sauvignon that is going to take at least a few years to fully come together. This is an unusually big, opulent wine from Peter Franus, but all the elements are in the right place.

2013 Frog’s Leap Cabernet Sauvignon, Rutherford
On Sale $44.99
A super attractive, mid-weight wine, the estate’s 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon offers up a classic expression of Rutherford. Sweet red cherry, iron, smoke and chocolate are all pushed forward, followed by a kick of energy that punctuates the finish. Exuberant and racy, with fabulous intensity, the 2013 is showing beautifully today. Despite its openness today, the 2013 has the pedigree to drink well for many years.

2013 Jax Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
On Sale $43.99
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, also seems superior to its 2012 counterpart. Black/purple, the wine show plenty of blackberry and cassis fruit, with more depth, ripeness and overall flavor dimension than its older sibling. This should turn out to be outstanding wine.

2013 Cade Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon (77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Malbec and 15% Petit Verdot, tipping the scales at 15.1% alcohol) has an inky purple color, a beautiful nose of blueberry and blackberry fruit, licorice and spring flowers. It is complex, rich, full-bodied, opulent, sexy and lush. This is a 2013 to drink now, as well as cellar for 10-15+ years.
