26 Jan Affordable 95 Point Pinot!
Oregon continues to excel with back-to-back stellar vintages! After the 2014 vintage saw some of the best juice in years, we are happy to find out….2015 is just as exciting. The 2014s are characterized by more elegant and silky wines with lush fruit (and typically ready to drink right out of the gate), while the 2015s appear to be more on the Burgundy side of things. Acidity, structure and great aromatics. Either way we’re in LOVE with these cooler climate Pinots from Willamette, and this knockout is a great jumping off point.
2015 Cristom Pinot Noir “Mt. Jefferson Cuvee,” Willamette Valley, Oregon
On Sale $28.99
The nose is fresh and shows great depth with raspberry crumble, dried wild strawberries, orange peel and milk chocolate shavings. Medium- to full-bodied with lots of spicy, crunchy red fruit, tangy acidity, firm tannins and a long finish. So good now but better in 2019.
95 points, James Suckling
