27 Sep Aussie Tasting Part 2!!
Sunday, September 30
1 to 4pm
At the Bar
To round out Aussie weekend, we’re going to pour our 2 faves this Sunday from 1 until 4! A BONE dry Riesling and a “GSM” that gives many Rhone wines at TWICE the price a ruin for the money.
2016 D’Arenberg Riesling “The Dry Dam,” McLaren Vale
On Sale $14.99
Neither McLaren Vale nor Adelaide Hills is particularly known for their Rieslings, but this is a fine example. The vibrant nose has notes of honeyed lemons, fresh peaches, and lime pie, with a touch of wax and a whiff of kerosene. It is dry and focused in the mouth, offering zesty citrus fruit and green apple flavors. No fat on these bones here! This is delicious with a mineral-driven style. It delivers great balance and vivacity, finishing with lingering citrus notes.
2014 Kilikanoon “Killerman’s Run” Grenache, Syrah, Mataro, Clare Valley
On Sale $16.99
Brilliant ruby-red. Aromatic aromas of ripe, spice-tinged red and blue fruits, incense and candied flowers. Plush and seamless on the palate, offering juicy raspberry, blueberry and spicecake flavors that fan out nicely on the back half. Fruit-driven and approachable in style, finishing with very soft tannins and an echo of candied red fruit.
