French Whites

2015 Domaine Guillaman “Cuvee Louis” Blanc, Gascogne, France
On Sale $8.99
The nose on the Cuvée Louis is a knock out, with excotic aromas of fresh, tropical fruit, including lemon, grapefruit, lychee, passion fruit, and a hint of acacia. It also boasts loads of white flowers too! The taste is well-rounded, and very fresh. There is good follow-through from the fruity bouquet. This is super fun and crisp, perfect for curries, shrimp and soft, gooey cheese!

2016 Domaine du Clos des Aumones Sec Vouvray AOC, Loire Valley, France
On Sale $12.99
This is THE Vouvray for those of you that covet the natural acidity and finesse of low yield & high quality Chenin Blanc. The racy minerality is laser focused and lifts the chalky flavors of the terroir throughout the entirety of the wine. There are lovely peach and apple blossom floral aromatics and the orchard fruit flavors are well entwined with the persistent limestone terroir. It’s a natural pairing for any type of shellfish, especially fresh oysters!

2015 Chateau Bellevue Claribes, Bordeaux AOC
On Sale $12.99
This blend of 50% each Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon is a killer deal. Château Bellevue Claribes shows a luscious, deep crimson color. On the nose, red and black fruits mingle with a dash of spice. This balanced wine offers remarkably pleasant, silky tannins that endow it with a charming, lengthy finish. A total classic.

2015 Chateau Moulin de Mallet, Bordeaux AOC
On Sale $12.99
A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2015 Château Moulin de Mallet is an intense, dark ruby color. The nose has ripe fruits, particularly red berries. This well-structured wine shows good concentration and silky tannins. This really shows the quality of the vintage. Most of the fruit for this stunner came from the right bank (Merlot country) where the vintage was strongest. Buy this by the case

Spanish Reds

2014 La Encina Centenaria Monastrell, Alicante, Spain
On Sale $9.99
Another new red blend, at least for me, the 2014 La Encina Centenaria feels earthier, with more influence from Monastrell with aromas of tree bark and esparto grass, and elegant rusticity in the palate. It has good depth and balance. Quite classical in style, with vinification and upbringing in oak barrels for one year. A nice addition to the portfolio, with more contained ripeness than some of the more expensive wines. 15,000 bottles produced.

2013 Crapula “CR Gold,” Jumilla, Spain
On Sale $10.99
Powerful blackberry aromas are matched by creamy oak. This Monastrell-Syrah blend is a driller, with strong tannins and more than enough body weight. Oaky flavors of dark-berry fruits and black plums finish with vanilla and lactic notes. This is rock solid from head to toe.

Italian Reds

2014 Petrolo “Torrione,” Tuscany

A refined and silky rendition of this wine with pretty berry, citrus and light chocolate. Medium body. Chilled and delicious. Drink now.
92 points James Suckling

2015 Cusumano Nero d’Avola, Sicily
On Sale $9.99
Deep ruby-red. Spicy blackberry and licorice on the nose and palate. Lively and sweet, displaying a silky texture and a very appealing floral freshness. Finishes with smooth, fine-grained tannins and decent persistence. This lithe, bright Nero d’Avola wine offers delicious drinking right now. Cusumano’s Terre Siciliane wines, though simple and easygoing, provide terrific value for the money.
