Burgundy Creme de la Creme

meo camuzet riche edit2012 Meo Camuzet Richebourg Grand Cru
Call for Price!
The 2012 Richebourg Grand Cru is reticent at first, but opens to reveal broody, saturnine black fruit infused with wild heather and minerals. Yet it remains a tight aromatic fist. The palate is very structured with firm backbone, very masculine, fine acidity with a very tannic, very spicy finish. This will need a decade in bottle at least. This is truly a vin de garde.

2013 Perrot-Minot Chambertin Grand Cru
Call for Price!
A big, rich wine, the 2013 Chambertin Grand Cru emphasizes extract and density, followed by gorgeous aromatics that give the wine its sense of dimension. Dried rose petals, white pepper and blood orange add elements of intrigue in an intense, resonant Chambertin that is likely to require quite a bit of cellaring. Power and finesse collide in a Chambertin of true pedigree.

2013 Perrot-Minot Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru
Call for Price!
The 2013 Griotte-Chambertin comes across as a bit compact and less aromatically expressive that most wines in the range. Bright red cherry, cranberry, mint, flowers and spices are all nicely delineated in the glass, while hints of white pepper and tangerine add an element of exoticism that is quite appealing.

2013 Perrot-Minot Mazoyeres-Chambertin
Call for Price!
On Sale $Bright medium red. High-toned aromas of musky raspberry, game and underbrush. Lush, sweet and full, with a creamy old-vines texture but no undue weight. The 100% whole-cluster vinification “brings a less compact style and gives the wine a light touch,” says Perrot-Minot. Smoky, quite ripe and expressive, if not quite as fruity today as some of these 2013s. Incidentally,Perrot-Minot insisted that his wines are usually bottled with no more than 0.35 grams/liter volatile acidity, which is quite low; it’s their fuller ripeness that gives them aromatic lift.
