Come sample our favorite Cali bargains covering the full spectrum of grape varieties the Golden State has to offer! From the unusual to the “Iconic,” we’re tasting wines from all over. We also threw in a Sonoma gem from Gonzague and Claire Lurton of Bordeaux, France, who happen to run two classic estates in the home of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chateau Durfort-Vivens (2nd Growth) and Chateau Ferriere (3rd Growth.)

Our brand, Muddy Arch, examines the rarely planted Roussanne varietal from top Northern California vineyard sites to expose the nuances of these local microclimates. Producing our wines in a classic wine style by utilizing balanced Roussanne fruit that is less ripe rewards us with lean and precise white wines that express a spectrum of notes from pungent stone fruit to brimming citrus to a deep honey.

This is a lush, fruity style of PinotNoir that is classic Central Coast. Notes of red berries and black cherries on the palate are accented by hints of earth and smoke. It’s fuller-bodied than your average Pinot. Delicious!

Black cherry, dark chocolate, coffee and mint touches show on the nose of this approachable bottling. The palate is solidly structured, pairing soy and licorice flavors with tangy black-plum and elderberry fruit.

2015 Iconic Cabernet Sauvignon “Sidekick”

This inky purple, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, is sourced from multiple sources within northern California, as far north as Anderson Valley and as far south as Lodi. The sandy, loam soils and sustainable farming methods have resulted in a stunning example of Cali Cab at a super reasonable price. 1/3 is aged in new French oak for 6 months. The remainder in stainless and neutral oak. Full bodied with great tannin and accompanied by plenty of black currant fruit mixed with notes of black cherries, wood, and earth.
2013 Joullian Zinfandel “Sia Cuvee,” Carmel Valley

Candied cherries, black plums, dried sage scrub and turned earth show on the nose of this bottling, which offers more rustic flair than other Zins. Once sipped, waves of crushed oregano, marjoram and dill take over, followed by red plum and touches of baked raspberry and boysenberry fruit.
2013 Trinite Estate “Acaibo” Proprietary Red Wine, Sonoma County AVA

Lots of blackcurrant, violet, and perfumed on the nose. Full to medium body, polished, ripe tannins and a long and flavorful finish. Extremely fine tannins. Needs two or three years to soften. A blend of mostly cabernet sauvignon and merlot. Some cabernet franc.
