Taste one of Italy’s best! Famous for centuries as the home to Italy’s greatest sparkling wine, Franciacorta lies in the heart of Lombardy in the province of Brescia. Recognized as a leading producer in the consorzio (the government body that regulates wine production and quality), Ricci Curbastro has been producing great wine for generations. Driven by the passion and dedication of current owner Riccardo Ricci Curbastro, the estate has done much to modernize its cellar. A true ambassador for its growing region, the winery has also served as President of the Franciacorta consorzio and chairman of other leading grower associations.

Multi-Vintage Ricci Curbastro Franciacorta Brut, DOCG
On Sale $42.99
“Firm and smoky, this lacy sparkler offers rich hints of pastry and marzipan, with flavors of white raspberry, fleur de sel, glazed apricot and lemon preserves. Drink now through 2018. 500 cases imported.”
90 points, The Wine Spectator

Multi-Vintage Ricci Curbastro Franciacorta Rosé Brut, DOCG
On Sale $42.99
“The NV Franciacorta Rosé Brut (80-20 Pinot Nero and Chardonnay) opens to a dry and mineral-driven bouquet with flint and crushed oyster shell in a leading role. The wine shows a beautiful, pale pink color with aromas of white cherry, cranberry, pine nut and candied orange peel. There’s a floral note as well with pink rose and violets. In the mouth, the wine offers a tight and streamlined texture with tonic effervescence and a compact consistency.”

Multi-Vintage Ricci Curbastro Franciacorta Demi-Sec Brut, DOCG
On Sale $38.99
“The wine is a golden/straw yellow color with rich ,full mousse and a fine bead of bubbles. Really well constructed aromatics of white flowers, elegant notes of ripe peach and nectarines. Soft on the palate and just a touch off dry (hence the Demi-Sec label). We looooove to serve slightly sweet wines of this caliber with ripe, soft cheese, rich bleu cheese and salty cured meats!”

2014 Ricci Curbastro Sebino Bianco, IGT
On Sale $16.99
“100% Pinot Blanc with a pale straw yellow color. This is a grape that has never really seen great commercial success and that’s a good thing! Prices are very reasonable for this tasty little table wine. Tropical fruits, plums and a great dry finish.”

2013 Rontanna Sangiovese
On Sale $16.99
“This winery is also owned by Ricci Curbastro. It’s 100% Sangiovese with a ruby red color and garnet hues. The nose is intense with a classic Sangiovese nose, black cherries and black currants, dried red flowers, and a finish of what I like to call forest floor and mineral notes. The medium acidity and long finish put me in mind of a $25+ Chianti. Classic!”

2011 Ricci Curbastro Curtefranca Rosso “Vigna Santella del Gröm”, D.O.C.
On Sale $28.99
“This wine is a unique blend of Cabernet Franc, Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Barbera. It’s fermented in steel but then aged for 2 years in large (over 2,000 liters!!) Slovenian oak barrels. In addition the winery ages this gem another year in the bottle. The wine is a deep ruby red color, with a Pinot like clarity and a touch of tawny hue at the edge from the aging in large cask. The nose has awesome concentration, and a sort of “Margaux-like” (the famous village in Bordeaux) profile. Loads of ripe red and blue fruits and discrete wood aromatics. Medium bodied, with silky tannin from the Cabernet Sauvignon. Fire up the grill and sear some lamb chops or serve it with hard nutty cheese like Comté, Gruyére or Parmesan!”
