20 Sep Fevre/Bouchard/Beaux Freres Tasting
William Fevre/Bouchard/Beaux Freres
Friday, September 21
5 to 7pm
In our Event Space
We’re hosting Katie Parker of Domaine Bouchard (Cote de Nuits), William Fevre (Chablis) and their latest acquisition…Beaux Freres in Williamette Valley, Oregon. These three wineries represent some of the jewels of their respective regions and we’re going to taste them side by side! This will be an illuminating experience, showcasing some of the planet’s finest terroir for Pinot and Chardonnay. We start at 5 and go until 7!
2017 Domaine William Fevre Estate Chablis
On Sale $24.99
This has plenty of ripe rich fruit with an array of lime curd, peaches, apricots and mangoes. The palate is packed with flesh and very succulent smooth and creamy peaches and apricots. A lot to like here. Drink on release.
92 points, James Suckling
2013 Domaine Bouchard Monopole “Clos St. Landry,” Beaune 1er Cru AOP
(this wine is included in the tasting, but bottles for sale arrive next week!)
Pale yellow. Shy, pure aromas of citrus fruits, white flowers and white pepper. Suave, nicely balanced and concentrated, showing lovely inner-mouth perfume to the citrus and floral flavors complemented by oak. This harmonious, persistent wine offers good density and bright acid lift.
89-91 Points, Stephen Tanzer
2015 Beaux Freres Chardonnay, Yamhill-Carlton AVA
On Sale $67.99
This is a knockout Chardonnay that walks a fine line between old world and new world. The nose is discreet, with lemon curd, toast, and cool mineral aromas…is Chablisian a word? Well it is now! This doesn’t let up in the glass with its crushed rocks, honey, and floral notes. Once it gets in your mouth, much is revealed! The juicy flavors of melons, ripe apples, and spices let you know it’s new world. Explosive and elegant at the same time. Serious pedigree here.
2016 Domaine Bouchard “Les Greves Vigne de l’Enfant Jesus,” Beaune 1er Cru AOP
On Sale $107.99
Dark fruits in 2016. The DNA of long, silky tannins is alive and well here. A suave and polished style with an attractive core of flavorsome, elegant mid-palate fruits. Really impressive. Try from 2022.
