Oregon weekend continues as we sample form the exquisite Haden Fig winery! These wines are all staples for us and if you haven’t tried them yet, now’s your chance!
2017 Haden Fig Chardonnay, Willamette Valley
On Sale $22.99
In 2017 we once again used fruit from Mahonia Vineyard but added fruit from the Eola-Amity site, Von Oehsen. Fermented and aged entirely in used French oak (228L, Francois Freres). Lemon curd, brioche with citrus oil and slight creaminess on the the nose followed by a nicely textured mid-palate and bright finish.
2017 Haden Fig Rosé of Pinot Gris, Willamette Valley
On Sale $19.99
Our sixth Haden Fig release of a pinot gris rosé is another knockout. Moreover, it’s a lot of fun to make. The grapes are crushed and destemmed, fermented on the skins for three days, then pressed to neutral oak barrels where they finish their fermentation. Gorgeous on the table and even better on the tongue. Red cherry, peach, apricot and a touch of cinnamon make for nearly endless possibilities when paired with food, from local fish to charcuterie and grilled vegetables.
2016 Haden Fig Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley
On Sale $24.99
Bright red. Smoke-accented blackberry and cherry aromas reveal hints of cola and licorice. Gently sweet dark fruit flavors are complemented by mocha and black cardamom nuances, and a touch of juicy acidity adds back-end cut. Smooth, velvety and focused, closing with good clarity, spicy persistence and gentle tannins.
