Terry Thiese Champagnes:

Multi Vintage Pierre Peters Brut “Cuvee de Reserve” Grand Cru
On Sale $59.99
“Very fine bready lemon citrus aromas here; a restrained, fresh and attractively raw expression of chardonnay aromas. The palate unleashes more flamboyant fruit flavors, heading through citrus to nectarine and peach. The focus never wavers. Long, fine and pure.”
92 points James Suckling

Multi Vintage Aubry Brut 1er Cru
On Sale $39.99
“A smooth, gently round and nicely balanced Champagne dominant in pinot meunier, pinot noir and chardonnay to boot. It has attractive lemon citrus flavors and is really punchy, refined and gently nutty. A smooth, pastry-like texture comes to the fore on the finish. Drink now.”

Multi Vintage A. Margaine Brut Rose
On Sale $52.99
“A smooth, gently round and nicely balanced Champagne dominant in pinot meunier, pinot noir and chardonnay to boot. It has attractive lemon citrus flavors and is really punchy, refined and gently nutty. A smooth, pastry-like texture comes to the fore on the finish. Drink now.”

Multi Vintage Gaston Chiquet Brut “Carte Vert”
On Sale $45.99
“(40% Pinot Meunier, 35% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Noir; 8 g/l dosage; disgorged in March, 2014): Green-tinged yellow. An intense, mineral-accented bouquet evokes fresh citrus fruits, white flowers and ginger; I’d have guessed that there was a lot more Chardonnay here. Dry, nervy and incisive, offering vibrant lime and pear flavors and an overtone of chalkiness. Clean, energetic and refreshingly bitter on the taut finish, with the mineral note echoing.”
90 points, Vinous Media

NV Moussé Fils “L’Or d’Eugene” Blanc de Noirs Brut
On Sale $44.99
“A mouthwatering Champagne, with ripe and juicy flavors of black currant, white peach and honey, as well as accents of chopped hazelnut, lemon curd and spice, set on the satiny bead.”
91 points, The Wine Spectator

NV Vilmart & Cie “Grand Cellier” Brut
On Sale $74.99
A blend of 70% pinot noir and 30% chardonnay, this has a complex and sophisticated nose that delivers peach fruits and citrus, plus some bolder yellow plum fruits too. The palate is assertive, energetic and concentrated with peach and nectarine flavors met with lemony acidity. Long, really powerful Champagne here. Drink now or age on cork for three or more years.
93 Points, James Suckling

Wasserman Champagnes:

NV Hure Freres Champagne Reserve “L’Invitation” Brut
On Sale $39.99
The ripe pear and white cherry fruit is fresh and juicy in this well-cut Champagne, carried on the fine mousse alongside subtle notes of lemon pound cake, graphite, salted almond and ground ginger.
91 Points, The Wine Spectator

NV Hure Freres Champagne Rose Brut “L’Insouciance”
On Sale $49.99
Based on 2013, plus 30% réserve wines, the pale pink-colored NV Rosé Brut Insouciance is an assemblage of 35% Pinot Meunier, 40% Pinot Noir and 25 % Chardonnay. The wine opens with a clear and refreshing bouquet of small red fruits on chalk and indicates a lovely purity. Very crisp and pure on the palate, this light Rosé reveals a lovely precision and comes along with a lean, mineral character with delicate fruit. Excellent. This Insouciance was disgorged in November 2015 with a dosage of six grams.
90 Points, The Wine Advocate

NV Pierre Gerbais Champagne Extra Brut “Grains de Celles”
On Sale $36.99
The NV Grains de Celles Extra Brut is 100% Côte de Bar and assembles all the 20 different parcels cultivated by the family, which adds up to 50% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Blanc. Based on 2012 (with less than 5% réserve wines) it was disgorged in December 2015 with three grams of dosage. The wine opens a bit reductive and displays a clear, intense fruit and brioche aromas. Full-bodied, creamy and round on the palate, but also pure and very elegant, this is a bone dry Champagne to be served with food. Good intensity and character in the finish.
89 Points, The Wine Advocate

NV Camille Saves Champagne Brut 1er Cru “Carte Blanche”
On Sale $39.99
Bright yellow. Musky pear and peach pit aromas are complemented by notes of dried fig and buttered toast. Fleshy and broad on entry, then tighter in the mid-palate, offering bitter pear skin and pit fruit flavors and a touch of smokiness. Closes with firm grip, a hint of anise and lingering toastiness.

2000 Camille Saves Champagne Brut Grand Cru
On Sale $99.99
The 2000 Grand Cru is another fat, ripe wine. Here the fruit moves towards the exotic, jammy end of the spectrum as notes of apricots, brioche and spices emerge from the glass. The wine remains creamy and generous all the way through to the long finish. As outstanding as the 2000 Grand Cru is, I prefer the NV Brut Grand Cru Carte d’Or for its greater verve and energy. The 2000 Grand Cru is 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay from southeast facing vineyards in Bouzy with an average age of 25 years. Dosage was 9 grams per liter.
92 Points, The Wine Advocate

2010 Jose Dhondt Champagne Brut Blanc de Blancs “Mes Vieilles Vignes”
On Sale $59.99
The NV Blanc de Blancs shows the more powerful side of Chardonnay in its overall intensity and broad-shouldered frame. Scents of chamomile, lemon oil, white flowers, mint and pastry find resonance on the palate, where the wine offers crystalline purity and tons of energy. Vibrant and pulsating, the Blanc de Blancs is a compelling Champagne to drink now and over the next few years.

Pinot Noirs from Waits-Mast:

2013 Waits-Mast Pinot Noir “Mariah Vineyard,” Mendocino Ridge
On Sale $42.99
A light garnet color and layers of classic aromas like tea, rhubarb, cherry and a nice walk-in-the-pines element segue to gentle cherry, raspberry and black tea in this medium-bodied, elegant wine. It’s also classic in the sense that complexity and drinkability rule over sheer power.
92 Points, The Wine Enthusiast

2013 Waits-Mast Pinot Noir “Oppenlander Vineyard,” Mendocino County
On Sale $39.99
Bold, ripe fruit flavors and full body give oomph to this cherry-scented, plum-flavored wine. It tastes high on the ripeness scale, and plays its fruit chords firmly, yet it also has nice concentration and a sense of layering that are pleasures to ponder.
93 Points, The Wine Enthusiast

2013 Waits-Mast Pinot Noir “Wentzel Vineyard,” Anderson Valley
On Sale $49.99
This wine is smooth, delicious and almost soft in texture. Mild aromas and flavors like cinnamon, red cherry and peach are very attractive, with just enough light tannins and mild acidity to back them up.
90 Points, The Wine Enthusiast

2013 Waits-Mast Pinot Noir “Deer Meadows Vineyard,” Anderson Valley
On Sale $56.99
Intricate aromas like dried leaves, dried cherries and cloves lead to clearly defined fruit flavors layered with cinnamon and cedar notes in this distinctive wine. The texture is gentle, the body not too full, and the mouthfeel is generous and soothing.
94 Points, The Wine Enthusiast

2013 Waits-Mast Pinot Noir “Nash Mill Vineyard,” Anderson Valley
On Sale $36.99
A smoky tinge to the garnet color and savory, forest-floor aromas give a slightly earthy character to this deceptively full-bodied, fascinating wine. The flavors kick in vivid rhubarb, raspberry and pomegranate notes, while firm tannins, brisk acidity and a nice, dry mouthfeel add good structure.
93 Points, The Wine Enthusiast
