2013 Virna Barolo DOCG
On Sale $32.99
Tar, orange peel and strawberry aromas follow through to a full body with chewy and powerful tannins and a long and flavorful finish. A structured and intense wine. Don’t miss this. Crazy quality for a straight up Barolo blend. Much better in 2021.
95 Points, James Suckling
2013 Virna di Borgogno “Sarmassa” Barolo DOCG
On Sale $62.99
Wow. So perfumed and bright with pure strawberry, stone and cedar aromas. Full and chewy with powerful tannins and lots of character. Yet always focused and vibrant. Better in 2020 when the tannins soften a little.
96 Points, James Suckling
2013 Virna di Borgogno “Cannubi Boschis” Barolo DOCG
On Sale $62.99
Aromas of oyster shell, blackberry and black truffle follow through to a full body, with chewy tannins and lots of dark fruits. Flavorful finish. Needs three or four years to open but already excellent. Drink in 2021.
97 Points, James Suckling
This special bottle is a blend of 3 Cru (Preda, Sarmassa, and Cannubi Boschis) In our humble opinions, it’s the sleeper of the bunch!
2013 Virna “Del Commune di Barolo” DOCG
On Sale $59.99
The mushrooms and walnut aromas with berries are impressive with this young Barolo. It’s full body, chewy and rich on the finish. Needs time to open. Better in 2020.
93 points, James Suckling
