2016 Santa Caterina “Salidoro” Monferrato Bianco, IGT
On Sale $23.99
Brilliant gold color. The nose is midway between citrus and tropical fruits, with a floral note of acacia and pleasant earthiness adding unique flavor and complexity. It’s so mouth-watering and aromatic. On the palate, it is delicious and generous, showing wonderful tart yellow and green fruit. Freshness is the hallmark with this wine. Pair with soft cheeses. Strada di Valpagna vineyard is an ancient seabed and this distant origin is the reason for the maritime and mineral qualities (think Chablis!) of Salidoro, a blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. And the name of its characteristics: “Sali” for its saltiness and “d’oro” for its gold color.

2016 Giovanni Manzone Rossese Bianco, Langhe DOC
On Sale $22.99
This is one of the more unique whites from this region! 100% Rossese which is a variety that was all but extinct until this winery chose to revive it. A stunning nose of ripe peaches, green melons, and even a bit of toasted almond leads to a palate that is super fresh with racy mineral notes. A shoe-in for our summer wine of 2018!

2016 Giacomo Fenocchio Nebbiolo, Langhe DOC
On Sale $23.99
The 2016 Langhe Nebbiolo pours into the glass with delicate, ruby-colored tonality. There is a lot of energy and vibrant fruit at the base of this easy-going Nebbiolo. The quality of the vintage fruit is clear. Pair this fresh red wine with your favorite roasted chicken dishes.

2013 Giacomo Fenocchio Bussia, Barolo DOCG
On Sale $68.99
Rose, iris, wild berry and baking spice aromas merge with scents of new leather and a balsamic menthol note on this stunning and classically crafted Barolo. The structured, polished palate delivers juicy Marasca cherry, crushed raspberry, pipe tobacco and licorice framed in tightly knit noble tannins and bright acidity. It’s going to just keep getting better and better over the next few decades. Drink from 2023 through 2053.

2014 Giacomo Fenocchio Cannubi, Barolo DOCG
On Sale $68.99
This Barolo from the Cru (aka vineyard) of Cannubi shows the delicateness and sheer pedigree that makes Cannubi the most storied hillside in all of Piedmont! This is from a tragic vintage and STILL show loads of red berries, rose petal, and licorice on the palate with an almost Pinot-like silkiness. The ’14 Cannubi possesses gorgeous aromatics, integrated tannin, and a complex, layered quality to the fruit that is a knockout. Sweet, minty, balsamic, and savory notes add freshness and lift on the finish. This is a rather delicate Barolo with echoes of red Burgundy.

2014 Giacomo Fenocchio Villero, Barolo DOCG
On Sale $68.99
The Giacomo Fenocchio estate enjoys excellent access to some of the best vineyard sites in the Barolo appellation. The 2014 Barolo Villero is one of my favorite wines among this group of new releases. This wine carries itself with broad shoulders and a steady stride. Dark fruit aromas of dried cherry and blackberry are backed by savory spice and tobacco. Lighter touches of clove and cinnamon appear on the close. Only 5,000 bottles were produced in the low-yield 2014 vintage.
