2012 Albino Rocca Chardonnay, Langhe DOC
On Sale $14.99
(made entirely in stainless steel, mostly from vines in Barbaresco; no malolactic fermentation): Slightly cloudy, light yellow. Explosive aromas of pineapple candy, apple and spearmint. Then distinctly dry-edged and primary, with a strong malic character to the crushed pineapple fruit.

Bobby Kacher Tasting Sat.

img1Saturday, August 30 Bobby Kacher
12 to 4pm
At the Bar

We just received a shipment from our old friend, Bobby Kacher. Come on by Saturday from 12-4 as we open up new vintages of old favorites.

2013 Inacayal Pinot Grigio, Mendoza
On Sale $12.99
Inacayal’s Pinot Grigio displays a brilliant color with delicate green tones. The perfect balance between sugar and acidity make this wine outstanding in its type. It has a rich, round and viscous mouthfeel. Fresh and floral, with citric notes mixed with white fruits and delicate traces of licorice.
Bobby Kacher’s Notes

2012 Thomas “Le Crele,” Sancerre
On Sale $25.99
Features white asparagus, thyme and lemon pulp notes, with a slightly plump edge on the finish. Drink now. 1,500 cases imported.

2012 Andre Brunel Domaine de Becassone Blanc, Cotes du Rhone
On Sale $16.99
A wine that always drinks above its humble price point, Brunel’s 2012 Cotes du Rhone Domaine de la Becassonne (Roussanne, Clairette and other permitted grapes) is lively and fresh, with notions of white currants, pineapple, mineral and honey on the nose. It’s a medium-bodied, juicy white to drink over the coming year or two.

2012 Domaine de la Gournier Grenache, Cevennes
On Sale $10.99
Light red. Lively redcurrant and spice aromas show good clarity and a subtle herbal nuance. Light and brisk, offering tangy red berry and bitter cherry flavors and a touch of white pepper. Finishes dry and tight, with good cut and decent persistence. I’d serve this one lightly chilled.

2012 Andre Brunel Grenache, Vin de Pays de Vaucluse
On Sale $10.99
In the glass this wine is grapy and easy drinking with very primary notes of cherry and blackberry along side of cracked black pepper. Perfumed black raspberry, fennel, and wild herbs jump out from the glass.
Bobby Kacher’s Notes

2011 Andre Brunel “Cuvee Sabrine,” Cote du Rhone
On Sale $15.99
Showing the vintage beautifully, the 2011 Cotes du Rhone Villages Cuvee Sabrine comes from vineyards located just to the north or Orange. Comprised of roughly 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvedre, it delivers gorgeous Grenache fireworks, with kirsch, ground herbs, spice-box and pepper-like aromas and flavors flowing to a medium-bodied, sweetly fruited and seamless profile on the palate. I don’t think it will make old bones, and should be consumed rather quickly, yet it is a gorgeous effort that will dish out loads of pleasure over the coming 2-4 years.
