21 Aug White Burgundy Features
Burgundy, France is where the Chardonnay grape was born, so it’s no surprise that this region is home to what we think are the finest producers of Chardonnay on Earth. These are very different from the new world versions of the grape, typically displaying greater acidity and less of the weighty, buttery component. This is just a few of the delicious white Burgundies we have in stock now.
2015 Nicolas Potel Macon-Villages

2016 Domaine des Granges Macon-Fuisse
On Sale $14.99
This wine comes from the heart of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation, but from higher altitude vineyards which were never classified as Pouilly-Fuissé. It displays pointed calcaire soil notes in the nose, with great complex fruits on the palate, and touches of honey on the finish. It is aged in 100% stainless steel.
2015 Domaine de la Vieille Fontaine Mercurey
On Sale $26.99
This is a gorgeous Chardonnay from a spectacular producer in Cote Chalonnaise. The Mercurey appellation is 230-300 meters above sea level, sheltered from the sea winds by its hillside slopes. The wine is spicy, with notes of flowers, almonds, and pepper. It is classic white Burgundy, very expressive and nuanced.
2015 Domaine Chanson Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru “Les Caradeux”
On Sale $49.99
There is enough wood present to remark upon suffusing the citrus and mineral reduction scents. Once again there is plenty of volume to the round, supple and attractively intense flavors that exhibit even better minerality on the sappy, powerful and mouth coating finish. This too is really very good and worth your consideration.
