Anthill Farms & Siduri Pinot Noirs

2014 is a knockout vintage for Pinot Noir in northern California. Comfortably warm weather lead to one of the earliest harvests vintners had seen (until anthill cork2015!) Anthony Filiberti is producing phenomenal Pinot Noirs and Syrahs from the cool climes of Sonoma Coast. Adam Lee of Siduri is acknowledged as a Pinot master in California, bottling over 20 different vineyard sites. His appellation series wines are a fantastic deal.

2014 Anthill Farms Pinot Noir Tina Marie Vineyard, Green Valley of Russian River Valley
On Sale $44.99
The 2014 Pinot Noir Tina Marie Vineyard is one of the most expressive wines in the lineup. Intensely aromatic and layered, the 2014 fills out its frame with striking perfume and layers of deep, fleshy fruit. Bright saline notes add energy, while savory overtones add lift. This is a strong and very complete Pinot from Anthill Farms. The whole clusters are evident, but not obtrusive.

2014 Anthill Farms Pinot Noir Campbell Ranch Vineyard, Sonoma Coast
On Sale $44.99
The 2014 Pinot Noir Campbell Ranch Vineyard is one of the more overt, fruit-driven wines in the lineup. The small berries here give the wine an intense, almost flamboyant sense of ripeness that stands out. Expressive floral notes round out the close. There is a directness and sense of immediacy to the Campbell Ranch that is compelling.

2014 Anthill Farms Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
On Sale $35.99
This appellation is widely described as “sprawling” as it encompasses half or more of the county. Our fruit comes from two of the coolest, most coastal parts of this appellation: the low coast, west of Sebastopol on the edge of the Petaluma Gap; and the high coast, the first or second ridge inland from the ocean farther to the north. These sites are united by the direct influence of the Pacific’s cool, marine air, delaying ripening well into October.

Siduri-logo-color2014 Siduri Pinot Noir, Santa Lucia Highlands
On Sale $24.99
Scheduled to be bottled in August, the 2014 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands bottling comes more from the northern part of the appellation in 2014 (the 2013 was mostly from the southern end). It has lots of sweet cherries, roast, violets and minty characteristics as well as a ripe, voluptuous and still lively feel on the palate. More red-fruit dominated than the 2013, it’s similarly styled and should certainly be an outstanding wine.
90-92 Points, The Wine Advocate

2014 Siduri Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley
On Sale $24.99
The 2014 Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley) is plump, juicy and forward. Dark cherry, plum, spice, menthol and cola race out of the glass. This exuberant, flamboyant Pinot is sure to deliver considerable pleasure over the next few years. The addition of the fruit that would have been used for the Sonoma Coast bottling has improved the Russian River Pinot.
