17 Aug Barolo & Barbaresco Sale
Barolo & Barbaresco Sale
Piedmont is one of the most respected growing regions in all of Italy. Home to the king and queen of Italian wine, Barolo and Barbaresco. Essentially two side of the same Nebbiolo coin, they each represent a unique take on this noble grape. Barolo is the king, more masculine, bigger, brawnier. Barbaresco is the queen, softer, fruitier, more feminine. Take some home and taste for yourself!
2011 Orlando Abrigo Barbaresco “Montersino”
On Sale $56.99
A Barbaresco with decadent, rich fruit character on the nose. Very spicy. It show a full body, velvety tannins and layers of fruit and citrus acidity. Lots of licorice character to this. Better in 2016.

2012 Luigi Einaudi Barolo Cannubi
On Sale $73.99
Einaudi’s 2012 Barolo Cannubi is another huge, intense wine. Big, rich and explosive in style, the 2012 possesses notable depth and concentration in a style that is shockingly rich for Cannubi. There isn’t a whole lot of subtlety here, but there is plenty of power. Here, too, readers will have to be patient. Still, I don’t expect the 2012 will ever be particularly polished.
