This is a gorgeous new find for us from Domaine de la Croix Senaillet. Notes of pear, passion fruit, and ripe lemon on the palate lead to a smooth, creamy finish.

2012 Domaine Dublere Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru “Aux Vergelesses”
On Sale $26.99
This beauty produced from 30-year-old vines has complexity to spare. Dublere produces a stunning line of 1er crus that offer immense drinking pleasure. Notes of citrus, limestone, and white flowers come across as the wine is swirled in the glass, leading to a creamy, rich finish.

2015 Morey-Coffinet Chassagne-Montrachet Les Houllieres (one of the Merch crew’s fave Burgs. Over-delivers every year!)
On Sale $54.99
A pungent nose offers up notes of smoky reduction though background notes of pear and citrus can be discerned. There is impressive volume and concentration to the rich and seductively textured flavors that deliver fine length on the sappy finish that is almost rustic by comparison to that of the Meursault.

Napa Valley:

2007 Ascent Cabernet Sauvignon, Diamond Mountain District, Napa Valley
On Sale $39.99
This is an amazing and rare opportunity to purchase a gorgeous wine from the stellar 2007 Napa vintage! The fact that this wine is in the market today (and offered for $70 below its intended retail price) is due to a long legal battle that kept it locked in the winery’s cellar since bottling. The wine itself is stunning, with notes of cassis, crushed raspberry, blackberry, espresso, and chocolate, and a seemingly endless finish. Simply incredible.

2014 Clos du Val Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
On Sale $49.99
Clos du Val’s 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is super-impressive. There’s not much of a drop off from 2013 here. Savory and mineral-driven in style, the 2014 possesses remarkable intensity to match its chiseled, finely-sculpted personality. Medium in body, structured and classic in feel, the 2014 is shaping up to be a real beauty. This could turn out to be one of the overachievers of the vintage.
91-94 Points, Antonio Galloni

2014 Purlieu “Le Pich” Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
On Sale $52.99
This is an excellent bistro-style of Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa at a fair price, with loads of black cherry and blackcurrant fruit, silky tannins, medium to full body and some heady alcohol in the finish, but it is in no way hot, just round, juicy, generous and irresistible. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. A sleeper of the vintage.

Spain & Portugal:

This tasty bargain Cava offers a ton of bang for the buck! It’s nice and dry, but at the same time very fruity. Notes of watermelon, strawberry, and raspberry flood the palate with a backbone of refreshing bubbles.

2016 Ponte Vinho Verde Rosé, Portugal

2016 Alianca Vinho Verde, Portugal
On Sale $7.99
This light, refreshing, pale white is a traditional wine of Portugal, translating as “green wine,” meaning it’s made with young grapes. It has subtle notes of tropical fruits and just the slightest hint of spritz. We love that it is low alcohol (10%) so it’s a great choice for picnics or other day-drinking occasions.

2012 Alianca Dao, Portugal
On Sale $8.99
Firm and juicy, with refined flavors of red currant, plum and forest floor that are imbued with lively minerality. The spicy finish features notes of graphite. Drink now through 2019. 20,000 cases made.
89 Points, The Wine Spectator

2015 Merino Red Blend, Alentejano, Portugal (Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez, Trincadeira)

This wine drinks well above its price, with plenty of red berry flavors and a backbone with a hint of smokiness, earth, and spice on the dry finish.
