Bordeaux Tasting

25 Aug Bordeaux Tasting

Sunday, August 28
1 to 4pm
At the Bar

Join us for a tasting of two new Bordeaux reds plus one of our favorite rosés of the year, the Despagne Rosé of Cabernet Franc! This rosé is as amusing to look at as it is delicious…a revealing statue on the label was too risqué for the American market, so you’ll see a tiny bar obscuring the daring bits!

2015 Despagne “Le Myth d’Amphorie” Vin de France Rosé
On Sale $10.99
Pale in color with a vibrant nose of watermelon and strawberry. Crisp and lean on the palate with more watermelon, orange, and herb. A delight to pair up with grilled vegetables or sushi.
Merch Notes

2011 Chateau Le Doyenne Premieres, Cotes de Bordeaux
On Sale $14.99
This rounded, full wine is densely packed with fruit, but also tannins that add balance. Blackberry flavors come through the dry structure to give both richness and freshness. The aftertaste is ripe, juicy and delicious. Drink now, but best from 2015.

2006 Chateau Villars, Fronsac
On Sale $14.99
Solid, with a winey core of blackberry and red currant fruit laced with mulled spice, tobacco and black licorice. Long, grippy finish. Shows nice density for the vintage. Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
89 Points, The Wine Spectator
