Cotes de Blancs 100% Grand Cru Chardonnay, In principle, the wine is a constantly refreshed ‘solera’; half is the new vintage, ’13, & the other half is the previous blend. Located in the Grand Cru village of Le Mesnil sur Oger, Péters also sources from the Grand Cru villages of Oger, Avize & Cramant. The juice goes through full malolatic & sees no oak. “brilliant color, very clear, precise & complex on the nose, displaying fresh lemon fruit aromas. Intense & complex, as well as super fresh & clear on the palate, this elegant wine offers a stunning fruit intensity and a firm and mineral structure.”

80% Pinot Meunier, 20% Pinot Noir from Cuicles. The Moussé family have been Champagne growers since 1750, with young Cedric Moussé representing their 12th generation. They are practicing organic, with a state-of-the-art solar powered winery. The name L’Or d’Eugene is a tribute to Cedric’s great grandfather, Eugene Moussé, who first started making this wine 90 years ago. L’or refers to the green clay in the soils of their vineyards, which they consider “gold.” Pinot Meunier is king at Moussé, they make the only Special Club that is 100% Pinot Meunier.

2014 Robert Craig Cabernet Sauvignon, Mount Veeder AVA

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder comes from a vineyard once owned by the late Robin Williams called the Pym Rae (now owned by the Tesseron family from Bordeaux) that sits at an elevation of 1,800 feet. Blueberry, blackberry & cassis are all present in this full-bodied wine that displays the high-elevation bluer fruits that Mt. Veeder can provide. There is a floweriness & full-bodied richness, big extract, but great balance. There is no rusticity. This beauty should drink well for at least 25-30 years.
