2013 Benegas “Estate” Malbec Mendoza, Argentina
On Sale $12.99…Normally $15.99
Brilliant and clean red ruby colour with violet hues. At the beginning ripe fruit such as strawberries and plums, after this some typical Uco Valley floral notes appear, mainly violets. The lactic notes are a result of fermentation and oak ageing. Wine of medium intensity with soft and round tannins that spread in the whole mouth. Easy to drink, velvety, unctuous with a long and lingering finish.

2011 Chateau Montelena Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley, CA
On Sale $79.99 (Lowest Price on Winesearcher.com!)
(30% new oak): Bright ruby-red. Captivating, high-pitched aromas of cassis, licorice pastille, bitter chocolate, violet, rose petal and mocha. Juicy and tightly wound, with fresh acidity energizing the middle palate but keeping the wine’s dark berry flavors restrained today. There’s a lightly peppery quality that gives away the vintage, but this highly aromatic wine is a big success for the year and very well made.

2013 Forman “Rossi-Wallace” Chardonnay Napa Valley, CA
On Sale $16.99 (Compare to $22 on Winesearcher.com!)
The 2013 Chardonnay is a bit richer and more generous than the 2014 tasted alongside it, partly the result of the vintage and partly because it has had a year more in bottle to soften. Orchard fruit, flowers and sweet spices meld together in a supple, open-knit Chardonnay to drink now and over the next few years.

2013 Zerran Garnatxa Blanc Montsant, Spain
On Sale $5.99 (Compare to $15.99 on Winesearcher.com!)
Light yellow. Dried pear, peach pit and honey on the fragrant nose. Chewy and dry, offering taut orchard fruit and citrus pith flavors that show a faintly bitter quality and a touch of anise. Suggestions of vanilla and honey sweeten the finish, which lingers with good persistence and a touch of chamomile.

2012 Botani Dry Muscat Sierras de Malaga, Spain
On Sale $4.99 (Compare to $9.99 on Winesearcher.com!)
The dry 2012 Botani, made from 100% Moscatel de Alexandria, has been adored by everyone I’ve served it to. Prior to this project, no one had used these grapes except for sweet wines. However, this is one of the most seductive and amazingly perfumed, flowery, dry whites in the world. Coming from decomposed slate and quartz soils of volcanic origin, this 2012 exhibits a sumptuous perfume of spring flowers, exotic fruits such as mango, pineapple, peach and apricot, and hits the palate with gorgeous fruit. While there may be a touch of residual sugar, it is not noticeable. Most of these wines last for nearly 70 years of age, so it’s amazing this 2012 Botani can be purchased for $17 a bottle.
