2011 E. Guigal Crozes-Hermitage
On Sale $24.99
(sourced almost entirely from the granitic soils in the north of the appellation, with 10% coming from Chassis in the southern sector): Vivid ruby. Textbook Syrah aromas of smoky dark berries, violet, licorice and bacon fat, with a peppery note adding vivacity. Chewy and broad on the palate, offering spicy blackcurrant and bitter cherry flavors and a hint of menthol. A dark chocolate quality emerges on the persistent finish, which is given grip by youthful tannins.

2010 E. Guigal Hermitage
On Sale $65.99
The 2010 Hermitage is another stunning wine from the 2010 vintage. A blend of 100% Syrah that spent 38 months in 50% new and 50% 1-year-old barrels, it is classic Hermitage with its rich, layered array of blackberry, crushed rock, vanilla bean, bacon fat and leather. Full-bodied, structured and deeply concentrated, with a serious, age-worthy feel, it will benefit from short-term cellaring and have two decades or more of prime drinking.

2010 E. Guigal Chateauneuf du Pape
On Sale $46.99
A stunning effort and showing the class of the vintage, the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape is comprised of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre that spent 24 months in foudre prior to bottling. Rich, textured and medium to full-bodied, with ample black cherry, olive tapenade and subtle meatiness, this traditional effort stays pure and lively, with fine tannin emerging on the finish. It can be consumed now or cellared for over a decade.

2011 E. Guigal Gigondas
On Sale $31.99
Opaque ruby. Pungent, floral red and dark berry scents, along with a smoky mineral quality and a hint of olive; seems like there’s more Syrah in here. Spicy blackberry and cherry-cola flavors put on weight with air, picking up an exotic touch of violet pastille. Maintains focus and energy through its long, smoky, gently tannic finish, with the floral quality emphatically echoing.

2011 E. Guigal Cotes du Rhone Rouge, France
On Sale $13.99
(49% Syrah, 46% Grenache, 5% Mourvedre) Smoky cherry and blueberry aromas display very good clarity and a touch of cracked pepper…sappy black and blue fruit flavors sharpened by a spicy nuance. A sexy floral note comes up on a gently tannic finish that lingers with very good persistence. As usual, this wine punches well above its category.

2013 E. Guigal Cotes du Rhone Blanc, France
On Sale $13.99
A great vintage for whites, the 2013 Cotes du Rhone Blanc (mostly Viognier) has outstanding notes of white peach and tangerine to go with an elegant, seamless style on the palate. It’s a smoking value to drink over the coming 1-2 years.

2012 Bichot Bourgogne Blanc Vieilles Vignes, Burgundy
On Sale $16.99
Beautiful yellow color with white gold reflections. The white flowers and citrus dominance of the nose leads on to notes of honey and dried fruit. The mouth is very well-balanced, ski l lfully blending vivacity and roundness.
