07 Mar Favorite Value Pinots

These are three of our absolute favorite value Pinot Noirs that we realized we hadn’t talked about in too long! Urgency is the fruitiest and most elegant. Crusher is big, oaky, and rich, and a pleaser for those who think Pinot is too light. Ron Rubin is probably the best deal out there right now on Russian River Pinot and is just plain good.

2018 “Urgency” Pinot Noir, California
On Sale $11.99
It’s hard to believe that a Pinot bearing only the “California” designation could ever be this expressive and well made at this price point. It’s a beautiful garnet red with dark red cherry, cranberry, and a touch of black tea aromas. Dark, elegant and layered with an impressive mix of dark fruit and exotic spice and soft tannins. The palate maintains enough acidity and freshness to prop up all the silky fruit and deliver a killer value he way to a rock solid red with wonderful texture and balance.

2016 Ron Rubin Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley AVA
On Sale $16.99
This is a clear, bright and light-bodied red, the grapes grown on the producer’s estate. Earthy mushroom, forest floor and black tea provide a savory backdrop that remains fresh in the glass thanks to buoyant acidity.
