10 Nov Gothic Winery Tasting Thurs. 11/12

Thursday, Nov. 12th
5 to 7pm
At the bar

Join us as we welcome Chad Lemieux from Third Leaf Wines as he pours Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays from Gothic Winery this Thursday! Gothic wines are new world wines made in an old world style and designed to be food-friendly. Their names and labels are inspired by 18th Century Gothic tales.

2013 Gothic Chardonnay “Ophelia,” Willamette Valley
On Sale $20.99
Aromas of Anjou pear, gingerbread and marine-sediment mineral are complimented by flavors of confit lemon and green apple. Judicious use of lees stirring during elevage helped to develop the mid-palate, while contributing weight and complexity to the texture. A lush, medium, mouth-feel is followed by a crisp, lingering finish.

2012 Gothic Pinot Noir “Nevermore,” Willamette Valley
On Sale $20.99
The 2013 Nevermore provides high-toned red fruits and a beautiful, elegant balance achieved by blending from our sites throughout the Willamette Valley. A light-medium bodied Pinot accented with savory notes and judicious use of just 20% new oak, this wine is delicious on its own, or with a myriad of cuisine: chicken, pork, red-fleshed fish, duck, or game.

2011 Eldritch Pinot Noir Maresh Vineyard, Dundee Hills
On Sale $57.99
The Maresh Vineyard sits on hillside volcanic soils above the town of Dundee, providing our fruit with cool nights , exceptional drainage, and perfect exposure to the sun. These venerable vines, some of the first to be planted in the Willamette, (which remain healthy and happy on their own rootstock), control their own vigor and yield miniscule amounts of fruit with exceptional concentration and complexity.

2012 Eldritch Pinot Noir Hyland Vineyard, McMinnville
On Sale $37.99
Our 2012 Eldritch Hyland Vineyard Pinot Noir displays ripe, dark cherry and raspberry fruits complimented by savory notes of fresh thyme and hints of vanilla bean. Brisk, refreshing acidity, a hallmark of Hyland Vineyard fruit, leads to a bright, lingering finish – a true Gothic Wine.

2012 Gothic Pinot Noir “Maelstrom,” Eola-Amity Hills
On Sale $37.99
One third whole-cluster fruit was aged for sixteen months in French oak, of which 25% was new. A moderate ruby color leads towards aromas of red plum, black cherry and chicory. Flavors of wild red fruits, anise and sweet birch compliment a medium, elegant texture with firmness from the whole clusters. This wine is complex and layered yet slightly brighter than the 2012 Eldritch Hyland.
