26 May Great Italian Deals
New Italian Bargains
Taste them Sunday from 1-4!
Check out these two new killer bargains from Italy! After tasting these wines, we bought all we could. Sample them on Sunday!
2010 Castellani “Guadalmare” I.G.T., Tuscany, Italy
On Sale $9.99
Ruby red in color. 50% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. We love this little “Super-Tuscan” gem and it’s aged to perfection! For $10 you get a wine that is hand harvested, uses native yeasts for fermentation and hails from Maremma the premier zone in Tuscany to grow Cab and Merlot (both Sassicaia and Ornellaia come from here and retail well over $100). Sappy cherry notes followed by wonderful earthy, foresty aromas. The addition of Cab and Merlot give the wine silky but firm tannins on the finish.

2014 Casata Parini “Miraggio” I.G.T, Abruzzo, Italy
On Sale $7.99
Garnet color with a tawny hue at the edge. This wine is old-school Italy and we love it! Spicy, and loads of tart plum and dried red berries. The price on this one is an awesome deal and will enhance any meal. I’d even decant this for 30 minutes or so before serving too. And did I mention the price?!

“The Istituto Agrario San Michele All’Adige is an important campus for scientific research and experimentation that attracts students of viticulture and oenology from all over Italy.”

2014 Istituto San Michele All’Adige Pinot Grigio, Trentino
On Sale $18.99
White gold color with copper highlights. This Pinot Grigio is delicious, with lush green apple, pear, and green melon notes. It’s far removed from most of the wines made with over-cropped, over-priced, watered down Pinot Grigio. This one is from the cold climate of the Italian Alps and is a stunning classic Like all of the wines from the Instituto, this is traditional Italy at its best!
