We’re kicking off our anniversary weekend with a fabulous tasting of Germany’s best! We’ll be welcoming winemakers, winery owners, and guests from some of Terry Theise’s best German producers. Take this opportunity to taste next year’s vintage of these exemplary wines and then purchase the current versions. Terry Theise is the foremost ambassador for these amazing estates and has gotten the public to once again pay attention to these essential wines for anyone’s cellar and table.

“Terry’s approach is vastly divergent from that of many of his colleagues. The growers he works with and the wines he selects must speak to something genuine and real beyond their basic flavor. His wines have in common a distinct character, a point of view, vitality, and a voice. They express the land, the grower, and the time in which they were made. These wines convey to the drinker a sense of beauty, harmony, meaning, and above all pleasure.”- Michael Skunk of Skurnik Imports

Producers Who Will Be Tasting

Dönnhoff- Cornelius & Anne Dönnhoff
“Their holdings represent some of the best in the Nahe and all of Germany.” -Terry Theise

Darting- Heike Gerstenhofer
“That’s Darting. Everything is delicious in any zone of sweetness, and the wines are charming and arrive at the table eager to be helpful. Perfect wines when the nth degree of complexity isn’t warranted. And they are not contrived – just honest!” -Terry Theise

winning sbKunstler- Gunter Kunstler
“There’s a palpable intelligence across the range, and the craftsmanship that results from that intelligence, plus vision, perspective and know-how.” -Terry Theise

Selbach- Johanes Selbach
“Johannes Selbach, this estate’s winemaker and director (as well as Terry Theise’s man-on-the-ground in Germany) is on fire. His wines are top flight and yet his winemaking appears to be improving with each vintage. Readers should note that Selbach’s wines typically appear substantially better after a few years of cellaring.” -Pierre Rovani, Wine Advocate

von Winning-Andreas Hutwohl
“The fact that this estate is crafting some of the very best dry wines in Germany is no fluke, rather a result of nearly obsessive winemaker Stefan Attman’s commitment to both dedicated cultivation of Deidesheim and Forst’s best sites and meticulous work in the cellar.” -TerryTheise
