We’re extremely excited to be hosting Mr. Gonnet himself for this incredible tasting. Guillaume Gonnet is a high-quality Rhone producer we’ve been in love with for a few years now, and this is your chance to taste the entire lineup of these stunning wines.
More on the Gonnet Family:
The Gonnet family has been settled in Bédarrides since 1600. Etienne Gonnet and Jeanne Brunier married and created Font de Michelle in 1950. Today the domaine is being managed by the grandchild of Etienne, Guillaume Gonnet. Before joining his family as 3rd generation winemaker, Guillaume travelled the world working in some of the most famous wineries in Bordeaux, Burgundy, Napa Valley, New Zealand and finally in Australia where he met his future wife, Kelly. The Guillaume Gonnet –Vigneron wines are an exciting new chapter for this lovely and diligent young couple. Guillaume and Kelly have purchased their own plots in Chateauneuf du Pape. With their vines, and selected parcels inherited from Guillaume’s family, Guillaume continues to produce wine that reflects his philosophy for winemaking – Minimal interference with the “terroir effect” by following biodynamic agricultural principles, ensuring the wine is balanced, soft with elegant tannins and very little wood influence. Guillaume has always been fascinated by the notion of “terroir”, most notably about how the Southern Rhône varieties express themselves in diverse terroir. The Robin on the label can often be found in their organically farmed vineyards and embodies all that drives the creation of these wines – dreams, liberty, and terroir.
Taste ALL these wines!!!
2016 Cotes du Rhone “le Reveur” Rose
50% Grenache, 50% Cinsault; direct press rose and vinified in stainless steel tanks. The wine displays vibrant red current with crisp pomegranate and pink grapefruit notes. There is a garrigue and soil intensity throughout this beautifully complex dry rose.
2016 Tavel “Le Nymphe” Rose
70% Grenache, 20% Syrah & 10% Cinsault; stainless steel. Tavel is a tiny village located directly across the Rhone River from Chateauneuf du Pape and produces some of the most age worthy rose wines in France. Round and textured with cherry, strawberry & watermelon flavors. This dry rose has complex chalky earth flavors and finishes with notes of Provencal herbs through the extra-long finish.
2015 Cotes du Rhone “Le Reveur” Rouge
The 2015 Côtes du Rhône Le Rêveur, and the only wine tasted out of bottle, this is a blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah that was destemmed and brought up all in stainless steel. It’s a classic dark fruit, peppery, tapenade and licorice-driven red that has medium-bodied richness and good concentration. Drink it over the coming 3-4 years.

2015 Cotes du Rhone Villages “Le Hardi” Rouge
80% Grenache, 20% Syrah with an average vine age of 65 years old grown in cailloux soils, vinified in stainless steel tank. Powerful and ripe with a plush texture; roasted meat and savory garrigue aromas and Cairanne “Le Brave” Rouge 2015: 80% Grenache, 20% Syrah; average vine age of 80 years; grown mostly in limestone and sandy soil. Vinified in Concrete. Great attack with bright red fruits, salty and mineral, super primary with smoked herbs and an extraordinarily long finish.
2015 Rasteau “Le Maestro” Rouge
90% Grenache, 10% Syrah; average vine age of 80 years; hillside vineyards above the village; vinified in tank and cuve. Outstanding complex nose of garrigue, smoke and roasted meats; black fruits and great structure through the middle. The finish circles back to the initial aromas and flavors of smoke, earth, pepper and garrigue. Outstanding.
2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Rouge “Bel Ami”
Deep ruby. Cherry, blackberry, licorice and a hint of smokiness on the fragrant nose. Concentrated bitter cherry and dark berry flavors are sharpened by a suggestion of peppery spices that builds in the glass. Chewy and gently sweet on the youthfully tannic finish, which leaves behind notes of dark chocolate and candied lavender.

2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Rouge “Homage à Maryline” Vieilles Vignes Reserve
Vivid ruby. Potent red and blue fruit and violet aromas, along with suggestions of licorice and woodsmoke. Sweet and broad on the palate, offering sappy, deeply concentrated boysenberry and spicecake flavors that are lifted and given spine by tangy acidity. At once rich and energetic, finishing with solid punch, building tannins and an echo of juicy blue fruits.

2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Rouge “La Muse” Vieilles Vignes Reserve
Lurid ruby. A complex, highly perfumed bouquet evokes red fruit liqueur, incense, lavender and Asian spices. Sappy, concentrated and focused on the palate, offering bitter cherry and raspberry flavors energized by a core of juicy acidity that adds back-end cut. Rich yet lively, displaying excellent clarity and suave, even tannins that come in late to add shape and grip to the intense fruit.
