Meet Umbrian superstar Valentino Valentini, the owner of Bocale and the youngest mayor of Montefalco! Bordering on Tuscany and right above Rome is the lesser-known and lesser-traveled region of Umbria. It’s here that you’ll find some of the most amazing, delightfully undervalued Italian wines. Come sample these brilliant wines with a super cool, old school winemaker and learn why these are so special!

2013 Bocale Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG

2009 Bocale Passito Sagrantino IGT
On Sale $39.99
The Montefalco Sagrantino Passito has an intense ruby red color. Aromas of black fruit and spice. While this does have intense sweetness (115g residual sugar) the powerful and pleasant acidity provides freshness. Bonus Friuli Tasting!
To round out the Umbrian wines we’re also pouring some of our favorite wines from way up north in Friuli!
NV Antonutti Prosecco, Friuli DOC

Exclusively Glera grapes, harvested in the first weeks of September, absolutely intact berries, accurate extraction of the free-run juice and careful re-fermentation by using the Charmat Method: these are the precious ingredients of an extra dry Prosecco. The taste is dry, crisp, and fresh, yet soft with harmonious hints of acacia and apple. Prosecco season is definitely here and this one is a staff favorite!
2018 Antonutti Pinot Grigio “Ramato,” Friuli DOC

This unique style of Pinot Grigio is getting extra attention these days.”Ramato” or Copper refers to the color of the wine from a handful of hours of skin contact. The nose is ripe with fresh tropical notes, and the flavors are tight and tangy with crisp apple highlighting the entry and mid palate. The finish is lasting and the minerality is present.
2016 Antonutti Cabernet Franc, Friuli DOC
