2012 Staglin Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
On Sale $199.99
This wine boasts a dense ruby/purple color along with a big, sweet bouquet of crème de cassis, camphor, incense, blackberries and high quality, subtle toast in the background. There is great fruit on the attack and the wine fills out beautifully in the mid-palate. Full-bodied and opulent, this is a classic yet voluptuous example of the 2012 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon crop. It will be delicious young, but age beautifully for two decades or more.

2013 Turnbull Cabernet Sauvignon Black Label, Napa Valley
On Sale $129.99
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Black Label flirts with perfection, with gorgeous graphite, blueberry and blackberry fruit and a full-bodied mouthfeel. The wine is light on its feet for such massive extraction. With not a hard edge to be found, this is truly brilliant winemaking from a great terroir. This is long, rich powerful and certainly seems to have 30 years of upside. Forget it for five years and drink it over the following 30+ years.

2012 Ridge “Monte Bello,” Proprietary Red, Santa Cruz Mountains…two bottles left!
On Sale $159.99
The 2012 Monte Bello is one of the most harmonious youngMonte Bellos I can remember tasting. Seamless and voluptuous through to the finish, the 2012 is showing beautifully today. Raspberry jam, pomegranate, white flowers, mint and spices are some of the many notes that flesh out in the glass. A wine with a distinctly red-hued profile, silky tannins, no hard edges and exceptional overall balance, the 2012 Monte Bello is simply magnificent. The 2012 is racy but also impeccably balanced throughout, with shades of the 2001 that come through from time to time. I won’t be surprised if the 2013 and 2014 both eventually surpass it, but there is no denying that the 2012 is simply stunning today. This is one of the best showings yet for the 2012.
