10 Aug New Beaujolais Tasting Fri. 8/11
Friday, August 11
5 to 7pm
At the Bar
Jason visited this winery with Craig Baker last year and discovered these amazing wines. We’ve been saying for a while now that Beaujolais is going to be the next big thing in French wine. These reds are 100% Gamay, the classic grape of the region known for its fruitiness and lightness. We recommend serving these slightly chilled. Come taste the whole lineup tomorrow after work!
2015 Domaine J. Boulon Beaujolais Vieilles Vignes
On Sale $9.99
This absolute bargain comes from 50+ year old vines! It’s round and fruity on the palate, with wonderful lightness classic to Beaujolais. Serve this wine slightly chilled alongside vegetables, cheeses, or light meat dishes.
2014 Domaine J. Boulon Moulin a Vent
On Sale $14.99
Moulin a Vent is a robust wine with ripe fruit notes and a strong spice component along with an oak influence. Pair this beauty with red meats, game birds, or strong cheeses.
2015 Domaine J. Boulon Morgon
On Sale $12.99
Morgon is the most famous hamlet of Beaujolais, known for producing wines with mature fruit flavors. The wine is rich and powerful (for a Beaujolais) but still subtle and nuanced, with notes of cherry, peach, and apricot. Serve this wine slightly chilled.
2015 Domaine J. Boulon Brouilly
On Sale $12.99
Brouilly’s wines are deeper and richer than other Beaujolais reds, with more pronounced notes of berries and plums and subtle mineral influence.
