14 Feb New White Bordeaux
We love the whites of Bordeaux. They offer some of the best Sauvignon out there and the quality level have been soaring over the past few vintages. Recently we came across a relatively unknown gem that really caught our attention. It is a rare white from the stellar 3rd Growth winery Chateau Lagrange in the village of Saint-Julien, and oh mama it is so good!! It’s got great fruit (lots of peach) and wonderful balance. Pair it with Asian cuisine for an amazing palate experience. We’ve also included a staff favorite Bordeaux blanc from the legendary Chateau Angelus.
2016 Chateau Lagrange Blanc “Les Fleurs du Lac,” Bordeaux Blanc AOP
On Sale $19.99 (lowest price online!)
A blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 20% Sémillon and 20% Sauvignon Gris from the well-known producer in Saint-Julien Château Lagrange from a small (by Bordeaux standards) 6 hectares vineyard. Aging is done all in wood with around 20% being new. Ripe and fresh with notes of peach and citrus are backed up by floral aromas. Very impressive wine with sneaky concentration and oak spices and minerals.
This is from the owner and winemaker of Angelus (Hubert de Bouard) and his amazing daughter (Coralie de Bouard.) They’ve set up a new winery in the nearby satellite village of Montagne-Saint-Emilion and the results are dy-no-mite!
2016 Hubert de Bouard “Le Sauvignon,” Bordeaux Blanc AOP

Love the melon and mango character this white has to offer. Medium to full body, pretty fruit and a delicious finish. Aged in acacia wood. One to watch.
