18 Feb Pinot Noir Favorites
These are two of our house favorite Pinots right now, one from California and one from Oregon. The Cross Springs is classic California, with ripe fruit and a rich mouth feel. The McKinlay is a great example of Oregon Pinot done well…lots of complexity and spice on the finish. We think both of these wines would be a bargain at twice the price.
2014 Cross Springs Pinot Noir, Colusa County, California
On Sale $9.99
Ripe black cherry, baked plums and aromas of brown sugar. On the palate you’ll find great ripeness, subtle earth, baking spices and vanilla all kept in check by soft acidity.
2015 McKinlay Vineyards Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, Oregon
On Sale $16.99
This bright Pinot Noir is on the fuller side of the Oregon Pinot spectrum, offering notes of currant and cherry and a finish of spice and a hint of smoke. The balance of acid on the finish makes it great for pairing with a variety of cuisines including soft and semi-soft cheeses.
