19 Jan Playing Card Wines

We’ve been working with these delicious wines for a while now and we are just smitten with them. They are classic, easy-drinking, and delicious. The Chardonnay is steel-fermented, giving it a nice fruity edge. The Cabernet is also fruit-forward, but with a good backbone from the French oak. The fun labels reflect how approachable these wines are.

2014 Queen of Chards Chardonnay, Desert Wind Vineyard, Wahluke Slope, Washington
On Sale $19.99
This single-vineyard Chardonnay is steel tank fermented, so it has no weighty oak to mask the fruit. Notes of tropical fruit and honeysuckle dominate the palate. Full malolactic fermentation gives the wine a roundness and creamy finish.

2014 One-Eyed Jack Cabernet, Lodi, California
On Sale $19.99
This lush Cabernet has notes of dark berries, cherry, cedar, and oak spice. It’s on the riper side, relatively fruit-forward, but with a wonderfully long, dry finish. Aged in French oak, lending complexity and smooth, rich tannins.
