The wine is aged in stainless steel and cement. Most of the 200-plus acres in production are characterized by ancient riverbed soils, similar to what is found in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
2013 Petrolo Galatrona, Toscana (only one bottle for samples!)
On Sale $87.99
The violets and blackberries show wonderfully on the nose here, yet this remains subtle and complete with hints of walnuts. Full body, ultra-fine and firm tannins and a beautiful fruit and mineral undertone… So layered. Another example of finesse and beauty here with this pure Merlot.
