23 May Sauvignon Blanc Bestseller & Rosé from Plouzeau
From Importer Weygandt, these two beauties from Domaine Plouzeau are perfect warm weather wines. Weygandt’s selections have been on our go-to list for years, because they offer consistent quality and great value. The Touraine has been one of our top Sauvignon Blancs for years, and this year we’re happy to have a bit of Plouzeau’s rosé from his second label Chateau de la Bonneliere. Both wines are organic and sustainably produced from old vines.
2015 Plouzeau Touraine Sauvignon Blanc, Loire Valley
On Sale $13.99
Imported by Peter Weygandt. Domaine Plouzeau is situated on the “rive gauche” of Chinon. The vineyards are all certified organic, and low yields combined with vinification directed towards emphasizing fruit produces a fresh fruit blast on the palate. The wines are bottled unfiltered to preserve the maximum fruit levels.
2016 Chateau de la Bonneliere Chinon Rive Gauche Rosé of Cabernet Franc
On Sale $12.99
Vivid orange-pink. Potent red berry and floral scents are complemented by suggestions of white pepper and musky herbs. Chewy, focused and dry on the palate, offering bitter cherry and redcurrant flavors that put on weight with air. Shows very good energy and punch on the clinging finish, leaving a subtle mineral note behind.
