2011 Paolo Scavino Barolo Carobric
On Sale $60.99
This is ultra-refined with rose petal, light chocolate and plum character. Full body, fine tannins and a soft and caressing finish. Very beautiful wine.

2011 Paolo Scavino Barolo Monvigliero
On Sale $61.99
One of the more reticent wines in the range, the 2011 Barolo Monvigliero is also one of the most promising. Understatement and nuance are the calling cards in a Barolo that captures a highly appealing interplay between the unique personality of this Verduno site and the trademark Scavino textural richness. Bright beams of supporting acidity and minerality give theMonvigliero much of its energy and drive. The Monvigliero has firmed up quite a bit since bottling and I expect it will require at least a few years to fully come together.

2011 Paolo Scavino Barolo Cannubi
On Sale $78.99
The 2011 Barolo Cannubi stands out for its nuance and amplitude, both signatures that separate it from many of the other wines in this range. There is a real sense of pedigree here, but it is hard to describe with mere words, as is often the case with Grand Cru Burgundy. Beautifully resonant and expressive, the Cannubi is shaping up to be a real gem. Scavino rents a small parcel in the heart of Cannubi that may very well be one of the best sites in the family’s range. A bottle of the inaugural 1985 was magic.
