Thursday, February 22
5 to 7pm
At the Bar
We’re stoked by the wine revolution going on in Chile and Argentina right now and Brazos Imports is certainly at the forefront of this. We’ll have some brilliant examples of these “underground” wines open for sampling! Come on by Thursday between 5 and 7 to see what we’re talking about!
2017 Laberinto Sauvignon Blanc, Valle de Maule, Chile
On Sale $16.99
This hand harvested, single vineyard, 100% estate Sauvignon Blanc has a bright nose with Guava, passion fruit, and lemon oil leading to a mineral mid palate and soft undertones of crushed rock. The Sauvignon Blanc is fermented in 100% stainless steel which leads to a very juicy and refreshing wine. We’d honestly peg this as a Loire Valley wine. The previous vintage scored a whopping 95 points from James Suckling so we’re excited to taste the new vintage too!
2016 Montsecano Pinot Noir, Valle de Casablanca, Chile
On Sale $34.99
A pinot with superb depth and texture with beautiful depth of fruit and ripe tannins. Full body, complex depth of fruit and length. Stone, blueberry, blackberry and intensity. All made and aged in concrete eggs. About 4,500 bottles made. Made from biodynamic grapes. Andre Ostertag of Alsace makes this wine. Drink now.

2015 Zorzal Wines “Eggo Tinto de Tiza”, Mendoza , Argentina
On Sale $19.99
The one blend in the Eggo range is the 2015 Eggo Tinto de Tiza, which mixes Malbec with 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon fermented in 2,000-liter egg-shaped cement vats where the wine matured for almost one year. This feels quite complete and balanced, with good ripeness while keeping the balance and poise. The palate is juicy and fresh, with fine-grained tannins and a bittersweet finish akin to sour cherries. Very tasty and long. Super. Incredible for the price. 16,000 bottles were filled in January 2016.

2015 Vaglio Malbec “Temple”, Valle de Uco, Argentina
On Sale $14.99
Aromas of flowers, mushroom and dark fruits follow through to a full body, juicy and flavorful. Long and savory finish yet always full tension and direction. Drink now.

2014 Zorzal Malbec “Gran Terroir”, Valle de Uco, Argentina
On Sale $14.99
Medium red-ruby. Cassis, minerals, dried herbs, pepper, spices and dark chocolate on the ripe nose. Juicy, sappy and deep, with lovely floral and mineral energy to the medium-bodied dark berry, licorice and spice flavors; shows a Pinot-like tangy quality that’s captivating. Here the serious dusty, building tannins arrive early but do not cut off the fruit. I’d give this another year to harmonize. A wonderfully mineral-edged wine with real lift and savory intensity. And an incredible value.
