Fragrant nose of blackcurrants, black cherries, sandalwood, nutmeg, kelp and dried lavender. Full-bodied with firm, polished tannins. Well framed, with a deep, fleshy core of dark fruit. Excellent second wine.
Dominated by Merlot, this is a luscious wine. It has black fruits and ripe tannins giving the wine a generous and rich character. Expect this wine to age well.
Another second wine from this great estate is the 2019 Les Tourelles De Longueville, a Merlot-dominated blend that includes 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, and a splash of Petit Verdot. It's another beautiful, round, sexy 2019 and offers ample ripe black cherries, smoked earth, tobacco, and chocolaty nuances. Medium to full-bodied, round, and lush, with sweet tannins, it's going to put a smile on your face any time over the coming 15 years.
The 2019 Les Tourelles de Longueville has come together nicely. It offers fine depth in the refined, mid-weight style of the year. Dark fruit, gravel, spice, leather, tobacco and incenses lend complexity to this dark, virile Pauillac.
Perfume and cherry on the nose. Grip and intensity with tannins that are a bit overpowering right now, dry but not at all astringent just powerful and muscular but there is a good vein of acidity keeping the palate lifted and fresh. Clearly depth and density here with liquorice spice coming through.
The 2019 Les Tourelles de Longueville is a blend of 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, 68% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, harvested from the 18th of September to the 11th of October. It is being aged in French oak barrels, 30% new, for 12 months. The production of this wine represents 28% of the harvest. Very deep purple-black colored, it features captivatingly pure crushed black plums and fresh blackberry scents on the nose with suggestions of tilled soil, pencil lead, licorice and charcoal with a waft of bay leaves. The full-bodied palate delivers mouth-coating black fruits with a wonderfully plush texture and just enough freshness in the background, finishing long and earthy.
Shows the rich, warm fruit profile of the vintage, with a nice, slow gush of plum sauce and steeped black currant as well as hints of anise, licorice root and singed cedar. Steady, focused finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
