The 2022 Beaujolais-Villages Jarre cuvée, derived from the same vineyard as the Le Vin des Roches, is made with only free-run juice and is aged for 10 months in an amphora. On the nose, the wine shows a vivacious bouquet of black cherries, lilac, dried sage and brown spices. Medium to full-bodied with a sappy concentration that is beautifully supported by an open-weave knit of fine-grained tannins. In comparison to the Le Vin des Roches, there is a sensation of enhanced salinity and herbaceous character, and while the finish is more concise, it still bears the same binding element of tension.
