A lovely surprise, with more depth and concentration than one would expect from a village-level Gevrey. A bright cherry, raspberry and blackberry fruit is elegantly scented with violets and earth on the nose. The texture is firm and tannic but not astringent at all - there is structure and depth, and a supple elegance suggesting that it should age well. The vines were planted in 1920 and partially replanted in 1950. Today they deliver a wine worthy of seeking out.
